RV Gutter
See photos below to get the
idea of what you can do.
If your tired of black streaks
and water running down the windows every time it rains, you may want to
look into installing some low cost gutter on your RV. The system
I use is easy, low cost and looks good. The material I use is 1/2"
vinyl J bead, 3/4" double sided tape, #6x1/2" self drilling screws, caulk
to apply along the top edge. Total cost of each 10' you install is
about $5. All material available at Lowe's or other such stores.
This J bead can be applied to any fiberglass or metal
RV siding or end caps. I show it being used as a gutter over the
rear window and front end cap of our unit. Use # 6x1/2" self drilling
screws, one every 18" to 24" do not screw tight. I install the J
bead with screws to hold in place, then mark along the top, remove screws.
Lightly sand the back side of the J bead to remove dirt and grease, wipe
area on trailer off to remove dirt and wax, next apply double sided
tape to the J bead and use the mark to reinstall, then put the screws back
in, apply a bead of good quality caulk to the top edge of the J bead and
over screw heads to keep water from getting in back on the J bead.
On the front cap I caulked top and bottom to keep water out when driving.
Update
At Campers Choice ( http://www.camperschoice.com )
I have found a Rain Gutter Spout that works out great when added to the
ends of the gutter to deflect the rain water out away from the trailer.
I did a little added cutting and filing to make it fit as I wanted it.
These Gutter Spouts may be available at other RV parts suppliers, but this
is the place I found them. The part number is T124 for Colonial White
and T125 for Polar White, as of 4/25/02 the cost was $2.50 a set (right
& left ends. You can find them at the above URL or there Phone
number is 1-800-833-6713.

Looks very neat and is hardly noticed once installed.
